Summer Reading – WeGiveBooks.org

There is a wonderful website where, year round, you can visit, read beautiful books online with your children, click a link at the end of the book and, by doing so, donate a book to needy children. It’s called WeGiveBooks.org and they’ve done a great job of collecting new releases and old favorites where you are sure to have trouble keeping yourself to just a couple of books at a sitting.

It’s summer time, though. And that means there are loads of summer reading programs out there. WeGiveBooks.org has a great one that you surely don’t want to miss.

Each week they are featuring a new book and with it, they are providing oodles of follow up activities and reading guides to help you and your children get the most out of the featured book.

Here’s a little more about their summer program right from their website:

“We Give Books’ Read for My Summer is your chance to share books – and share giving – with young readers in your life. Designed specifically for children ages 5 through 8, Read for My Summer highlights a special book for you and your child to read online from the We Give Books library every week, along with fun activities and reading tips to make each book come to life. This free 10-week program helps parents, schools and libraries offer children an exciting online reading experience, filled with classic children’s books.”

This week, they are featuring one of my favorites: Llama, Llama, Red Pajama.

Wanna join in the fun?

Hope we see you there!
